Match 2 – Old Hough – Lower Benbo – 15th March 2020 – 16 fished

Match 2 showed another tough day.  All seemed calm when setting up, with a few opt’ing for the long pole.

As always, once you start fishing the weather changes and the wind picked up, with those on the long pole struggling again to hold. So feeders and down the track seemed a sensible option.

Very slow start to the day, with pockets of fish appearing on certain pegs and no one catching all day consistently.  Some lovely little stockies coming out and the old wobbly carp making an appearance.

For your author of this post, the best part of the day was the start, full English and a brew at The Turnpike and the end, back again for sandwiches and chips.  Can’t beat a good feed.

Golden peg was peg 9 drawn by Mark Walton and drawn in the match by Paul Nadin.  Again this was not to be, with weights coming out around this peg, just not here on the day.

1st – John Wallis (£50)
2nd – Andrew Reynolds (£25)
3rd – Rick Golden (£15)

Next match is 26th April at Old Hough on Big Max, and hoping again the conditions will improve.
