Match 2 – Heronbrook – Match Lake – 14th May 2023 – 18 fished
Well what a venue this is. Well stocked lakes, every peg looked after. Park behind your peg. Couldn’t ask for a better match venue.
With the hope of some big fish and large weights well into the 100s coming out everyone started hopeful, with some reports of over 30lb carp in this lake, we even had the carp lads bringing their carp rods for a bash.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t the day for it, with all 18 pegs in was realistically going to be a tough day, and the big fish just weren’t showing up. With Mark Walton having one of the biggest fish at 16lb dead, isn’t to be sniffed at.
Golden peg was Rob Wallis, who after coming first last match was hopeful of a chance, unfortunately he limped home with 35lb and 8th place, the pot continues. An outstanding performance from Steve on this venue, who has had a lot of bad form recently and especially last season, looks like hes back !
1st – Steve O’Reilly (80lb 11Oz)
(Section winner) Paul Nadin (60lb 3)
(Section winner) Pete B (75lb 5Oz)
