Match 10 – Partridge Lakes – Spey Canal – 30th October 2022 – 16 fished

Unfortunately, one of our worst matches of the year.  Not sure if this is down to the venue, the weather, too many on the lake. But it was a tough day all round, with hardly any fish showing up to play.  Most nets as you will see from the gallery were coming from small silvers and the odd bonus carp or F1.

Your winner (that being me 🙂 ), only managed a better weight after finishing over the top of the rope that was cutting half my peg out.  Calls for disqualification were made, but I stand by my “big balls” and will take the win anyway :-).  Highlight of today’s match has to be Pete, new comer for this year and my doubles partner.  Managed to catch a single roach (about 2Oz I recon), decided to dry his nets and keep the little one in a ground-bait bowl… a couple of jokers telling him a seagull has flown off with his fish, turned out to be a prediction by the time we came to weigh in, the fish had disappeared 🙁 poor little guy, and I don’t just mean the fish :-).

League was decided today also, with Mark Walton pipping our previous years champ Scott Harding. Well done to both anglers for keeping it tight right to the last weighin.  A massive well done to Mark, whose consistancy has shone through this season.

Final match is our Fur n Feather in Novemeber, then a few beers and food next year.

Golden peg was Steve Taylor, and today’s result was less of a curse and more of some of the same
