Match 7 – Gorsty Hall – 4th August 2019 – 12 fished

New venue for Midport Gorsty Hall.  A few had fished it earlier in the week and had a good session, so was all looking positive, except the weather reports that gave rain from the off !

Well 8am draw, and skys are blue and air is warm.  The water was alive with fish, half the lake was taken up with Carp over-nighters who were pushing out big rods and bait, looking like we might need to bulk up today.

Steve O’Reilly is welcomed back, with a little helper for netting and Rick is moaning straight off the draw, so normal service has resumed.

During the session, there was surprise, disappointment (mainly from being snapped by the angry carp) and elation that the sun stayed with us all day.

At weigh-in everyone on the lake knew Mr Reynolds had won, because he didn’t shut up about his 100lb weight…. then it turned out he was 7Oz short with a great effort of 99lb 9oz taking Midport’s current record.

Well done to all and a great venue that has been booked again next season.

#cockofthematch was unanimous and goes to Andrew Reynolds for missing out on 100lb in weight…

1st – A Reynolds – £50
2nd – S O’Reilly – £25
3rd – P Nadin – £15

Next match is at Home Farm in Alsager in several weeks while everyone fits in some summer holidays.
